Kate McCamy is a playwright, screenwriter, and producer, who was raised in lower Manhattan by an artist mother and geophysicist father. She was a teacher-director for the Circle Repertory Company Lab and their Arts and Education outreach program. She studied at NYU’s Screenwriters’ Lab, the Writer’s/Directors Lab at Circle Repertory Company, and at the Neighborhood Playhouse.

McCamy's plays have been regularly produced by the Drilling Company, The New Circle Theatre Company, The Producers Club, and published in Smith and Kraus, Best One Act plays for 2005, 2009, 2011, and 2018. She divides her time between the loft where she was raised, which is now referred to as Tribeca, and her home in upstate New York.

McCamy is currently working on a memoir about growing up in lower Manhattan in the 1960's through the 1980's.
