Doris Gwaltney is the author of three historical novels, several non-fiction works, and a collection of fifteen historical monologues. Her most recent novel, Homefront (Simon & Schuster), is the story of two girls who come of age together in the shadow of the biggest war in modern history. She has given numerous lectures and workshops, including the pursuit of genealogy in literature. She presently teaches writing at Christopher Newport University and lives in Smithfield, VA, with her husband.
