
Jane Domino, Acquisitions Coordinator
Jane is a senior at Wellesley College, studying French and Latin, knowledge she put to use in editing Raleigh Dugal's Canis Infinitum. After working on both marketing and developmental editing, she is now focusing solely on acquisitions. An aspiring book editor, she has always been easily sucked into fiction of all genres, as long as the characters are fascinating and and the voice is distinct. Jane works for the Wellesley News as a copy editor and a contributing writer, and she enjoys doing crossword puzzles in her free time.

JONATHAN HU, Director of Technical Project Management
Jonathan has been a member of the agency since summer 2010.
He has grown from being an advisor on several projects to a more substantive role as advisor on major client initiatives. A graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas in MIS, he is developing strategies for multimedia projects including audio, video, film, digital applications and live performance arts. His interests are rooted in helping clients achieve their goals by leveraging technology and adapting to the everchanging technical landscape. Jonathan enjoys reading fiction, history, surf fishing and gardening. We breathe easier when he is in the house

GEORGE KENNETH BERGER has been named Director of Science Fiction Acquisitions and Development for the Agency. He will be developing a group of science fiction writers from international sources to help define the next wave in science fiction publishing. George Kenneth Berger is now living in Uppsala Sweden where he is enjoying a quiet but active literary, academic, and social life.
Samantha Gill, Film and Theatre Development Associate
Samantha, a junior at Skidmore College, is a movie and theater lover and has been her entire life. From blockbusters to foreign independent films, Samantha loves watching them all and particularly enjoys those films that are quirky and heartfelt. As a freshman in college she studied in London where she was lucky enough to take a class that allowed her to see 12 productions on the London stage over three months. The experience heightened Samantha’s appreciation for the wonderful craft of theater. Her favorite shows include Enron, the original production at the Royal Court Theatre, and Brecht’s Mother Courage starring Fiona Shaw at the National Theatre. Samantha loves to discover innovative and meaningful plays and films.

Marissa Giambelluca, Literary Agent, Film and Theatre Development
Marissa Giambelluca has many strings to her bow. Not only does she hold double degrees from Emerson College in Writing, Literature, Publishing and Theatre Studies Management, she has made her debut in the world of theatre and film. She has worked as Stage Manager for the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York, worked on the production of Maria Padilla at Opera Boston, and most recently worked for Sony Pictures in their production office in L.A. for the new Spiderman film due in 2012.

Lauren Hamaty, Junior Agent
Lauren Hamaty has a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College. She has enjoyed reading and writing from a young age and is particularly interested in horror, mystery, and fantasy novels. She is currently working with children's books. Lauren was a member of Stork Magazine, a bi-annual fiction magazine at Emerson. She has also published children's book reviews in the Midwest Book Review.

Tess Vander Heide, Literary Projects Consultant
Former intern, development editor and junior agent with CJA, Tess is currently working as a full time teacher in the Greater New Orleans area. She earned a B.A. in English Literature last year from Tufts University having spent a year abroad studying the novel in Oxford. An aspiring novelist, she remains actively interested and involved in the literary world. Our team celebrates her return as active consultant on special projects.

Courtney Coats, Intern | Author Relations Team
Courtney has always loved books and has had a passion for reading and writing since she was a child. She is currently studying book publishing in the Masters of Arts in Publishing and Writing program at Emerson College. She was born and raised in North Carolina, where she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a second major in English. Courtney’s favorite books are those that challenge her to think, inspire her to dream, and transport her to another time or place. Ultimately, she hopes to be a part of creating books that will influence others the way her favorite books have influenced her. Courtney's other interests include graphic design, traveling, cooking, and playing with her dog, Gatsby.

Elora Sullivan, Intern | Author Relations Team
Elora is a student at Emerson College, studying Writing, Literature, and Publishing. She received her BA in English from the University of Rhode Island, and spent many summers serving seafood to the challenging clientele of tourist-driven Newport. She is looking forward to the transition from food service to book publishing, and learning all that Boston has to offer. In her spare time (what's that?), she enjoys practicing Kung Fu, baking, visiting her Western Mass hometown (especially to see this little guy, Duncan), exercising, and naturally, reading.

Marisa Finkelstein, Intern
Marisa is the second Marisa at the Carolyn Jenks Agnecy and excited to join as its newest intern. A senior at Emerson College in the Writing, Literature, and Publishing BA program with a minor in Marketing Communications, Marisa has interned for Candlewick Press in the marketing department and for MIT Press in the publicity department. A book is never too far from her reach, and she is excited to be able to bring new stories to the hands of readers. She prefers YA, fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, and, apparently, Bleak House.

Ariel Rosen, Author Relations and Marketing Team
Ariel Rosen is passionate about children's literature that can fuel a child's imagination, curiosity and capacity to learn. Ever since she was a child she recognized the comfort well-written children's literature offers and she continues to be entertained and uplifted by children's books today. Her favorite authors are Roald Dahl, Daniel Handler, Maurice Sendak, Jane Yolen, Margaret Wise Brown, Ezra Jack Keats, and Michael Chabon.
Pema Jenks, Most senior analyst, Eighteen years overseeing manuscripts, contracts, and author meetings with her brother, Robin,has earned her a place of respect and esteem.
